Kevin - Piano, Voice

Kevin started taking piano lessons at the age of 14. His first true inspiration for the instrument was his grandmother, who was a gospel piano player. He brings a positive attitude along with the vision to promote growth in young students, focusing on goals and basic fundamentals.
Kevin has always had an ear for music, participating in choir since elementary school. In Jr. high, Kevin was selected for the Highschool select choir. Here is where he began studying sight reading and ear training under his vocal coach Miriam Gibson at Leipsic high school. He would go on to participate in drama club, musicals, and solo singing events and was in select county choir all 4 years of Highschool.
After high school, Kevin began writing and composing original music. Performing at popular venues around the Bowling Green area, including The Clazel. Kevin has also been featured on WBGU-TV and has performed on WBGU-FM. He has also worked with Stephen Merrill, the former telecommunications instructor at BGSU. In 2015 Kevin recorded 3 songs at BGSU as a demonstration for an audio production course.
In addition to his proficiency in piano and vocals, Kevin nurtures a fervent love for stringed instruments. His journey began at the age of 15, as he embarked on mastering the bass guitar before seamlessly transitioning to the acoustic guitar. From the age of 18, he became a crucial part of various local bands in Toledo, contributing his guitar skills to the writing and recording of a self-released album. Presently, he continues to shine as a dynamic bass player for a well-known regional touring band.
Kevin has started his teaching career as a private instructor in the BG area and is looking forward to the opportunity to teach at Forté Music School!
