Brian - Trumpet, Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, French Horn

Brian is a trumpet player in the Toledo area primarily working in musical theater. He was formerly a public school music teacher until the birth of his daughter. In the 22 years since he picked up the trumpet, he has had to navigate many hurdles with his physiology and health to keep up his performing standard. After high school, he decided that he would become a music teacher to help other musicians to mitigate the challenges he faced in his musical upbringing.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Education in Music degree from The University of Toledo, Brian gained many tools to aid students in their musical success. In order to become more efficient on a podium in front of ensembles, Brian earned a Master of Music Performance in Conducting degree from The University of Toledo. Though he enjoys directing many students in an ensemble setting, Brian prefers individualized instruction to students to help them with their own personal set of hurdles to success.
Brian has been a clinician for schools preparing for festival/contests in the Monroe, MI, and Toledo, OH areas. He has performed with various orchestras, wind ensembles, and jazz ensembles throughout southern Michigan and northern Ohio. His focus for all of his students is for them to understand the necessary mechanisms of their physiology and their instrument to produce the best sound possible for their musical expression.
