Neil - Drums, Percussion
Neil is a dedicated percussion performer and educator based in Northwest Ohio, thrilled to share his passion for percussion and drum set with students of all levels. Originally from the Metro Detroit area, Neil earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Oakland University. He went on to receive a Master of Music and a Graduate Certificate in Percussion Performance from Bowling Green State University, where he was awarded a prestigious Graduate Assistantship. During his time at BGSU, Neil was a finalist in the Graduate Concerto Competition and performed with the renowned Landlocked Percussion Quartet.
Neil is an active freelance musician and teacher in the Northwest Ohio area. As an orchestral percussionist, he has performed with several symphonies, including Lima, Adrian, Perrysburg, and Livingston. His love for musical theater has led him to work as a pit drummer and percussionist for various companies, such as the Ohio Light Opera and the Croswell Opera House in Adrian, MI.
In addition to performing, Neil is a passionate educator. He serves as one of the Percussion Directors for the Maumee City School District, teaching percussion classes for students in grades 6-12 and directing the front ensembles for the fall and winter marching seasons. He is also a percussion outreach instructor with the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts, where he leads weekly hand drumming and bucket drumming classes.
One of Neil’s favorite musical experiences was performing Third Coast Percussion’s re-scoring of the film Paddle to the Sea.
