Megan Amos is a French horn player and teacher in the Toledo Area. As principal horn of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Megan can be seen performing all over town at venues such as the Peristyle at the Toledo Museum of Art, the Valentine Theater, and the Stranahan. Megan is originally from York, Maine and is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music. Megan moved to Toledo two years ago to join the Symphony. She lives in West Toledo with her husband Doug, a former teacher (trumpet) at Forte Music.
Megan has taught many students of various ages. Many of Megan’s students play in the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra of which she is the horn coach. Other students of Megan’s have participated in OMEA ensembles and various other AllState concerts. Some of Megan’s students have gone on to earn collegiate horn scholarships and study horn in college and beyond. Megan’s teaching philosophy is to instill a lifelong appreciation for music, help students achieve their horn playing goals, and give young students a chance to spend valuable one on one time with an adult to help develop important life skills.
