Maggie - Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, French Horn, Tuba
Maggie is a 2017 graduate of Ohio Northern University (ONU) in music education. Additionally, she holds a Master’s from Bowling Green State University in music education.
During her time at ONU, Maggie was the assistant conductor for both the Wind and Symphony Orchestras. She performed in a wide variety of performing ensembles on trombone including wind symphony, symphony orchestra, jazz band, brass choir and a concerto with the Wind Orchestra.
Maggie was previously the band director at Anna Local Schools for five years where she actively participated in Ohio Music Education Association's adjudicated events with her students. Her groups continuously scored excellent and superior ratings at large group and solo and ensemble contests. She also has taught many private students for the past 12 years with some of her students going on to study music in college.
Maggie enjoys doing research and presentations. She has done a collaborative action research project with a former professor and was accepted to present at several conferences including the National Association for Music Education, the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, and the Ohio Music Education Association. She has also given teaching readiness presentations to Ohio Northern’s Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association chapter and with OMEA.
Maggie is currently teaching 5th-12th grade band with Toledo Public Schools where she is working to build a program up to competition level readiness.
