Kyle is a dynamic musician and educator, active across Ohio and Michigan in a variety of musical settings. Originally from Washington State, Kyle relocated to Ohio to pursue his Master’s degree in Horn Performance at Bowling Green State University. During his tenure, he served as the graduate assistant for the horn studio and performed as a member of the Bowling Green State University Graduate Brass Quintet.
As a skilled horn player, Kyle has collaborated with several orchestras in both Washington and Ohio, including the Yakima Symphony, Wenatchee Symphony, Lima Symphony, and others. Since 2022, he has held the position of fourth horn in the Lake Chelan Bach Festival Orchestra. Kyle is also a passionate chamber musician, performing in numerous brass and wind quintets for a range of events such as weddings, graduations, and recording sessions. Additionally, he has explored the jazz genre, participating in various jazz competitions and performing with a horn jazz quartet and big band at the 2022 Northwest Horn Symposium in Moscow, Idaho.
Kyle’s teaching experience is extensive and diverse, encompassing private lessons, group sectionals, and full bands in Washington, Ohio, and Michigan. His students have excelled, performing at state solo and ensemble competitions, gaining acceptance into honor bands, and being admitted to prestigious music schools. He has also served as a horn section coach for the Detroit Civic Youth Ensembles and an assistant coach at the Seattle Youth Symphony Summer Camp. Most recently, Kyle worked as a brass coach in the Perrysburg school district, mentoring students from beginners to advanced high school musicians.
Kyle holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Horn Performance from Central Washington University, along with a Master’s degree in Horn Performance from Bowling Green State University. His primary mentors have been Dr. Jeffrey Snedeker and Dr. Andrew Pelletier. Kyle is dedicated to fostering a love for music in his students and helping them achieve their personal musical aspirations.
