Kelly - Voice
A native of Toledo, Ohio, vocalist Kelly Broadway (yes, her real name) is a seasoned performer. Her styles include jazz, pop, rock and classical genres. She studied voice at Bowling Green State University with Professor Richard Mathey. In 2000, she won a full talent scholarship to study with jazz legend Jon Hendricks where she earned her B.A. in Music and began teaching voice.
The last 15 years, Kelly has been singing with her jazz quartet for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruise Lines touring the world. Celebrity Cruise Lines signed Kelly as a featured headliner, performing her act “Modern Day Diva”. Before this, Kelly lived in Portland, Oregon where she was a member of the world renowned symphonique band ‘Pink Martini”. Her move to New York City led her to collaborate with musicians such as Russell Malone, Chris Botti, Michael Kaanan and Wynton Marsalis to name a few.
Her many appearances include Oregon Pops Symphony, Mt. Hood Festival of Jazz, Portland Jazz Orchestra, Detroit Jazz Festival, Portland Jazz Fest, Art Tatum Jazz Heritage Festival, The Blue Note and Jazz Standard NYC, Sorbonne, Paris France with the Jon Hendricks Vocalstra, Toledo Jazz Orchestra. Kelly now resides in Toledo where she teaches and can be heard locally.
