Joseph started studying classical piano at 5 years old with Diane Smolka, using the Suzuki Method in the Antelope Valley in California. In 2001 he studied under Joe Jewell at Fullerton College in Southern California before moving to Los Angeles and studying at Musicians Institute with players like Steve Hunter.
Later, as part of the group Burnt, Seeds Records opened its doors in NorthPark San Diego where they began releasing self-produced albums as well as recording with other area bands including hip hop luminary Karmic Basis and the phenomenal fretless six-string bassist Karthac Suresh. Joseph and the band toured southern California constantly, playing every Saturday night to a packed room at Club Heat in San Diegos famous Gaslamp District, UCR ReggaeFest with Barrington Levy, and opening for Jamaicas The Wailers in a nameless cinderblock theatre in Tijuana as well as on Tijuana radio. This was followed by a West Coast tour in an alternative fuel school up to play Ska Fest in Victoria BC where the band has continued to perform throughout the years.
In 2008 Joseph moved to the Bay Area of California where he played with various local musicians such as psych/folk artist Steve Taylor at John Lee Hookers Boom Room as well as playing Gospel music at Antioch Missionary Baptist in Oakland and continuing to perform with Burnt with acts such as Long Beach Dub Allstars at San Francisco's Warfield Ballroom and many festivals and artists up and down the coast both as a solo act and backing others up and down the west coast LAs Lollypop Records artist Gregg Garvey and with producers Calvin Turnbull and Peter Temple.
In 2010 Joseph began playing music with the New Orleans based band Gal Holiday and The Honky Tonk Revue as a member of the touring band, playing every honky tonk and dancehall between Los Angeles and New Orleans opening for acts as diverse as Dj Bonebrake and Albert Lee and performing all over the Crescent City from Chickiwawas and The New Orleans Museum of Contemporary Art to Check Point Charlie's. Joseph has taught a variety of students privately since 2010.
