Christina - Flute, Piano, Violin & Viola
Christina currently serves as the Orchestra Director at Woodward High School within Toledo Public Schools. Over the past seventeen years, she has advanced from roles in daily and long-term substitute teaching to obtaining a five-year professional teaching license from the State of Ohio. Christina has a diverse teaching background, having instructed in vocal, instrumental, special education, and general music classrooms across all grade levels. She has held her current position for the last seven to eight years.
Christina’s educational journey began at Union Local High School in Morristown, Ohio. After graduating, she attended the University of Toledo, initially majoring in Music Education before switching to a Bachelor of Arts in Music. After spending two years working in the box office at the Toledo Symphony, she returned to the University of Toledo in 2004 to pursue a Master's in Music Performance, which she completed in 2006. Recently, Christina earned an Educational Specialist Certification from Bowling Green State University, a licensure pathway to becoming a school principal. This fall, she will embark on a doctoral program in Educational Leadership Studies at BGSU.
At home, Christina has three children, Gabriella, Gabriel, and Noah, whom she adopted from birth. Other family members include: D’jango, Maxine, Rosie, and Rocco, who are all dogs. Ruby is the family’s bearded dragon.
Beyond her professional and familial responsibilities, Christina is an avid musician. She enjoys playing in various music ensembles, primarily focusing on strings and woodwinds. As a freelance harpist, she has performed in musicals, numerous pit orchestras, and orchestral concerts. Christina is also deeply involved in her community as the Praise and Worship Leader at Wake Up and Worship Church.
