Benjamin - Drums/Percussion

Ben is a percussionist, electronic musician, audio engineer, and educator from Buffalo, New York. He has been a clinician, speaker, and soloist for the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, TEDx Talks, The soundSCAPE International Festival, The Hiroshima Junior Marimba Festival, and many more. Ben has had the pleasure of performing throughout Europe, Asia, North America, and Central America, and recording with artists such as Keiko Abe, Sō Percussion, Karolyn Stonefelt, Natasha Farny, Doc Severinsen, and Bernard Woma. He currently holds the timpani position for the Perrysburg Symphony and the principal percussion position for the Warren (PA) Symphony. Ben is also a member of the World Percussion Group, an international chamber organization.
Ben has enjoyed many diverse opportunities during his career so far. He has worked for the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, served as a Percussion Mentor for the Detroit Civic Youth Orchestras, an audio engineer for several organizations, and taught K-12 music in the Western New York and Northwest Ohio areas. He currently teaches K-8 General Music at West Side Montessori.
Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia and a Master’s degree in Percussion Performance from Bowling Green State University. He also holds two performer’s certificates from the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Chōfu, Japan. In his spare time, Ben enjoys spending time with his fiancé, two cats, and horse, playing Pokémon, and practicing martial arts.
