Angelica - Voice, Guitar, & Piano
Angelica’s love for music began at a very early age. She was singing before she could even talk, often turning everyday objects into pretend microphones and carrying a small tape recorder with her so she could capture song ideas whenever inspiration struck. Coming from a family of artists and musicians, she was surrounded by creativity from the start. She began studying piano around age 10, learned guitar from her older brother at age 12, and continued developing her voice through years of singing, songwriting, and performing.
As she grew older, Angelica performed in a variety of bands, appeared at festivals and live venues, and studied Vocal Performance at Bowling Green State University under Metropolitan Opera performer Myra Merritt. Although she eventually earned her degree in Psychology, music continued to hold her heart. She later returned to pursue it professionally, writing and producing her own music as well as music for other artists. Today, she and her husband run a recording and production studio and continue performing live throughout Northwest Ohio.
Angelica enjoys teaching a wide variety of musical styles, including jazz, blues, classical, pop, folk, and singer-songwriter music. She loves helping students explore the music they feel most passionate about, believing that true growth begins with genuine excitement and connection. Whether working with very young children discovering sound for the first time or older students developing their own personal style, she finds great joy in watching each student’s love for music grow.
Her teaching philosophy is centered on cultivating a sincere love, curiosity, and connection to music. She believes that when students are given encouraging guidance, fun experiences, familiar routines, and meaningful musical connection, they develop a foundation that can stay with them for life. In addition to voice, Angelica also teaches and plays piano and guitar. Outside of music, she loves spending time with her husband and their three daughters.
