Alexis - Flute

Coming from a family of musicians, Alexis began playing the flute at the age of ten. After taking flute lessons all throughout middle school and high school, she continued her studies with Dr. Conor Nelson at Bowling Green State University. In 2015, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a specialization in Instrumental Music.
During her time at BGSU, she was an active member of the Falcon Marching Band for three years and was squad leader of the flutes and piccolos for one year. She was also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and served as Service Chair, Fundraising Chair, Fraternity Educator, and Vice President of Rituals.
Alexis has worked as a flute clinician for Malow Junior High and Eisenhower High School in Shelby Charter Township, Michigan and Napoleon High School in Napoleon, Ohio. For the past eight years, she has been giving flute lessons to students of all ages and abilities. Alexis also worked at Camp Walden in Cheboygan, Michigan giving guitar lessons to children. In 2018, she became the Performing Arts Director for the camp.
Alexis is a certified music teacher in the state of Michigan for grades K-12. She has been teaching band, choir, and general music for the past three years and has recently created a band program for her school in Monroe, Michigan.
