Henrique Batista has been playing percussion from an early age. An avid performer Henrique has performed in many venues in the United States, Canada, Chile, Australia, and in his home country Brazil. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in contemporary percussion performance at Bowling Green State University under the guidance of Dan Piccolo. Prior to his time at BGSU Henrique completed his Master of Music degree at James Madison University studying with Bill Rice. Henrique earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Conservatorio Brasileiro de Música in the city of Rio de Janeiro. During his time in Rio de Janeiro he performed with the cities major orchestras including the Orchestra Sinfonica Brasileira.
